Research Interests
My research interests are in the field of drug discovery and medicinal inorganic chemistry applied to neurodegenerative disorders, in particular Alzheimer’s disease.  Within these areas, I find very attractive develop computational methods such as chemoinformatics and molecular modeling for the selection of drug-like candidates before proceed to experimental assays.  In order to find a potential application in biological systems, evaluate selected drug-like compounds by means of biochemical assays and molecular imaging (PET, SPECT).

Other interests
My favorite non-professional activities are playing the piano and mountain hiking. I like travelling and making new friends. Furthermore, I love collaborating in different activities for bringing science to people. Within this context, I have performed fun chemistry experiments in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in order to motivate young people in science.
Moreover, I have collaborated in ‘Researcher’s Night 2008’ (http://stark.udg.edu/rn08/eng/) and participated as assistant chemist during the ‘Magic Show’ of Prof. Rudi van Eldik in Barcelona (photographies  available in http://www2.iec.cat/FotografiesWeb/HomMendeliev/).
